We have all at some point heard the saying, “If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.” I guess someone’s mom said this or that is what life would have you believe. Yet, there is some wisdom to this refrain. In Reiki, we attempt to meet someone’s bad intentions or acts with a simple phrase, “Love and Light.”
Why? Why should we bless someone for cruel intentions? Why not say what comes to mind?
The not so simple answer is that your mind mirrors your words and takes on the attributes you use to describe others. Your mind is full of mirror neurons ready to reflect a world that you perceive. What you may not know is that the mind takes more stock in what you SAY versus what you VIEW.
Every insult, every misplaced word is a command to your subconscious.
Be frugal with your words and even more with your INTENTIONS. For the ill wish you intend, may become the view in the mirror that haunts you.
